Can you hear me?

We have this thing in the culture which is concerned with reputations. How one goes about ones business is watched carefully, if surreptitiously. People want to know about your money. People want to know what you have and how you got it. The government is monitoring it. They need a lot of it because they spend it wrong. The Oscar equals it, before and after, the Presidency means it, before and after. People care more if you make it than if you do well.
People would rather see me making potato chips commercials. If it was more money, and less time. If it promoted a useless product, people would applaud me for it.
